If you're interested in learning how to play an instrument that is not listed above, such as banjo, trumpet, saxophone or sitar, please let us know as we may be able to arrange for music lessons for these instruments as well.

We also run student recitals and offer programs for music theory, practice partners, band ensembles, chamber music, adult evening play groups and music teacher performances.

We are within minutes drive from Stamford, Greenwich, New Canaan and Darien, CT... as well as Pound Ridge, Bedford and Armonk, NY.

Most of our students arrive from the above listed towns but some come from further away such as Westport, CT or Rye, NY.

Yes. We rent musical instruments including violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, saxophone and drum kits.

Some of Long Ridge Music Center's young guitar students may also rent special sized guitars.

Piano rentals, leasing and a variety of other piano related programs are available through our affiliate business, Allegro Pianos, with whom we share our building.

We can offer 'in home music lessons' but rarely do so for several important reasons.

Student's approach, especially children, is substantially different when lessons take place at our facility.

They are better prepared, advance faster and are more likely to enjoy the benefits of music playing over students taking lessons at home. It is likely that the specific, distraction free environment offered at our facility contributes to this success.

In addition, most of the best music teachers prefer a music studio environment where they can focus on teaching music lessons rather than spend their time driving from one location to another. At Long Ridge Music Center, we value and prefer to work with the most qualified and experienced music teachers.

Unfortunately, while interviewing and assessing prospective music teachers, we found most often that those willing to provide in home music lessons did not meet our expectations and could not teach at our music school..

With the option to take lessons at Gab Kallay's home music studio or at the student's home, we provide a comfortable and nurturing environment for students in Fairfield County, CT, specifically Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan, CT.

My own journey as a player and performer started at 4 years old in Viet Nam, when my mother, a career cellist in the Hanoi Symphony and my father a well-known painter, decided to give these gifts to me. It all started with choosing the right music schools, teachers, and mentors on my own 35-year journey.

As Artistic Director at Stamford Music & Arts Academy, I’m passionate about bringing high-quality music education, music appreciation, and music performance skills to children and adults. This passion is shared by the entire SMAA faculty, who all believe in the transformative power of music.

A hallmark at SMAA is recognizing that every student is different, and that their music learning journeys follow unique paths. We work diligently to understand student and parent goals, personalities, and learning styles to customize lesson and theory programs and teacher assignments.
