We’re unable to provide childcare at our health center. For safety reasons children need to be accompanied by an adult when they’re in the waiting room. Only infants can accompany you to the exam room. Please bring a friend or family member to be with your children if you don’t have childcare at home.

Specially trained staff and medical equipment are available for people with physical disabilities.

You can fill your birth control prescriptions at our health center instead of the pharmacy. during business hours

You can come to us for services that don’t require a medical exam. For example, birth control education and supplies; emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill); pregnancy testing and counseling; STD testing, and testing and treatments for urinary tract infections.

At Yale, there is a special relationship between obstetricians and midwives. Because of the long history of midwifery in the Yale community, certified nurse-midwifery is embraced and considered an integral part of the care we provide.

A certified nurse-midwife is a highly trained practitioner with a master of science degree in nursing, with further training and certification through an accredited nurse-midwifery program. Nurse-midwives specialize in the care of women in a holistic manner and recognize when additional support and consultation are necessary.

An obstetrician is a physician who has earned a medical degree followed by a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology, focusing on the female reproductive system, including diseases and disorders that may require medical or surgical management. Obstetricians specialize in the management of pregnancy complications, labor, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

The nursing staff and providers support individualized care for women based on their unique needs and preferences, supporting natural childbirth with water immersion and aromatherapy, while also providing easy access to modalities such as narcotic and epidural analgesia, as desired.

We specialize in the problems and issues of women's health and we evaluate and manage a wide variety of health problems and conditions. Gynecological and obstetrical problems, minor or major, are capably handled. We offer all current contraceptive options, counseling for pregnancy and infertility, gynecological and obstetrical ultrasound studies, pregnancy testing, and both perimenopausal and menopause management. In addition, our physicians are skilled at general and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery.

Our Board Certified physicians are on staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital. They each have a faculty appointment at Yale University School of Medicine and are active on the teaching staff.

In addition to our eight physicians, County Ob/Gyn employs three Certified Nurse-Midwives. CNM's evaluate, diagnose and prescribe the proper measures for most women's health concerns. They are fully trained in women's Ob and Gyn health. During pregnancy, in addition to routine prenatal visits and testing, they provide necessary patient education regarding genetic screening, diet, nutrition, exercise, breastfeeding, and supportive labor management during childbirth.
