And, as a mom to two sons and a daughter to aging parents, I believe my experiences enhance my ability to help clients through many life events – from buying a home and providing college education for children, to navigating illness, long-term care needs and estate considerations.

Most of my clients are actively planning for retirement or living in retirement, and many have needed financial guidance through life transitions such as job changes, divorce or loss of a spouse. While each have their own goals, all share a desire to live comfortably and protect against risks that could jeopardize their dreams.

With a BA in sociology from Middlebury College, I planned to go into education, but then received a job offer from Connecticut Bank & Trust in their management program. 20 years and five banks later, I left my senior management position in investment services and opened an Edward Jones office in West Hartford, where I have enjoyed helping clients as a financial advisor for the past 20-plus years.

Outside the office, I have enjoyed serving a variety of organizations including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, my church, West Hartford Rotary and West Hartford Chamber of Commerce. For years, I have also taught investment classes in the West Hartford LifeLearn program, many of which were designed for women, to help them gain confidence and control in managing their finances.

Looking back over my career, I expressed to a friend my curiosity over how I ended up in a career as a financial advisor.
