A Great Start Shooting School is a local Connecticut firearm range run by women for women (although we also teach men and children). Learn at your own pace at our private outdoor gun range with the help of a female NRA certified instructor, range officer, IDPA safety officer, and training counselor.

Avoid the crowds, noise, and distractions of public ranges at our secluded Harwinton shooting school. We provide training for every skill level – from learning how to load and unload a firearm safely to drawing from a holster and learning how to shoot on the move at moving targets! My name is Brooke Cheney. I have over ten years of experience as a certified firearms instructor and safety officer. I am also a competitive shooter and perpetual student.

While I grew up around guns, whenever I went to the firearm range, it was the same story: I was handed a gun, I pulled the trigger, and then I handed it back to the person who brought me.

I had no clue how to load or unload a gun. I couldn’t tell you what I was shooting or even if I hit the targets.

But in 2007, I found myself home with two small children, knowing that there were guns in the house and that I needed to learn more. I didn't want myself or my children to add to the statistics of people who harm themselves with their own firearms.

*Here at Wolf's Indoor Range you are not required to shoot OUR ammo , the only time we will require you to use our ammo is when renting one of our rental guns, if you have any questions about this please ask!

*Non Permitted guests (that are with permitted guests) are only allowed to shoot .22 caliber guns and full sized 9mm guns (guests between 12-18 can ONLY shoot .22) and only with a licensed shooter who has had their permit for over a year.

We offer a discount on range time for Law Enforcement , Fire Fighters , EMT's , Active Military , Veterans , Department of Corrections. Must show proper I.D. to receive discount.

Here at One Shot Firearms Training LLC, we strive to bring you a professional and effective learning experience. You will walk away with confidence in firearms handling as well as confidence in your marksmanship.

At One Shot, students will use firearms that are most common in the gun industry, such as a Glock, Walther, Smith & Wesson and Heckler & Koch.

We want the knowledge and skills you learn in the classroom to transfer over to the range and in any situation.

"Basics of Pistol Shooting Course". An 8 hour course designed to teach you the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This is the state required course in order to obtain a pistol permit.

Includes guns, ammunition and range time as well as classroom material. ($50 deposit included in total price of $125. $75 due the day of the course) ANY SALE WILL SHOW UP AT CHECKOUT.

At "One Shot", we take pride in sharpening our marksmanship skills. This is a 1 hour course designed to increase confidence in firearms handling and shooting. Students will be thought advanced drills that they can use later on in their journey to become better marksmen. This course will allow you to get familiar with various firearms, which will help you make better decisions when purchasing your first firearm.

A well cleaned firearm will increase safety, accuracy and longevity. A well-maintained firearm will ensure that you shoot your firearm effectively and accurately. Your life may depend on your firearm. The last thing you want is a firearm malfunction! We can clean your firearms for you or you can join a class and learn how to maintain your own firearms.

We are proud to announce the opening of our new Virtual Range. This facility is one of a kind here in CT, you will not experience anything more realistic outside a live fire range. This range is fun for the whole family and we have scenarios, competitions and games for all ages and levels of skills.

If you are looking to obtain your CT Pistol Permit you have come to the right place, this class is our specialty, we have been teaching the NRA and the USCCA handgun safety class you are required to take in order to apply and obtain a CT Permit for over three decades and we hold these classes at least 4 - 5 times every month.

Retired Law Enforcement Officers looking to carry nationwide under LEOSA (HR218) can receive their annual certification with our POST Certified Instructor.

Looking to obtain a nonresident Utah Permit, we have a BCI Certified Utah Instructor that offers the Utah class several times a year.
