4worldlovers: Paper Dragon Books has been owned and operated by Gavin Dovey in New York since 2006. A graduate of LCP, University of the Arts London, Gavin started bookbinding in the late 1990's acquiring a good deal of experience working in various trade binderies in Europe, as well as alongside several master binders.

In additions to the large amount of regular artwork and designs I have created over the years, I try to find time to create work for display at a number of exhibitions.

Over years of creating one of a kind art objects, books, and boxes, I use many traditional and new techniques, from leather inlays and onlays to printing and photo-transfer.

Since 2006, I’ve been creating custom “Design” clamshells, for one of the largest collections of signed Modern-Firsts in the world.
