4worldlovers: We opened our doors on Saturday, April 29, 1995, and because of people like you, we are still here at the same location in Hamden so many years later. Retail has changed drastically since then with widespread online shopping and many big stores having closed down for good, but we are grateful to still be here to help everyone with all of their backyard birding needs and any other ways to enjoy nature all around us. The pandemic threw another wrench in the works 3 years ago but we found a way to keep things going with curbside pickup only for 3 solid months at the start of it and then continuing to adapt with supply chain issues or some products we stocked for years just no longer being available. But through it all you all supported us and we can never thank you guys enough.

We’ve now entered peak hummingbird season here in Connecticut! From now until the middle of September we have the most activity at the feeders and flowers in our yards. So make sure to get your feeders up and filled. The nectar needs to be changed every 3 days in this warm weather so make sure to not leave it out there much longer! The Orioles will be around for another month until Labor Day so keep feeding them if they’re around your yard too.
